In association with the luxurious Morgans Hotel, Swansea we are delighted to announce a special ‘Haka’ lunch with one of the greats of world rugby, Sean Fitzpatrick ONZM. The lunch in support of Age Connects Morgannwg will be held at Morgans, Swansea on Friday 6th October 2017.
Sean Fitzpatrick ONZM was appointed captain of the All Blacks in 1992 and played in 121 international matches, including 92 Test matches – a New Zealand record at the time. He also held the record for the most Test matches as an All Black captain (51) and had played in more Test match victories (74) than any other player.
He ended his career with an overall tally of 55 points in Test matches, including 12 tries. After making his international debut for New Zealand on June 28, 1986, he took part in the inaugural World Cup in 1987 when he enjoyed one of his best-ever rugby moments as the All Blacks went on to win the tournament in Auckland against France. Thereafter, he missed only two Test matches over the next decade.
Sean is still very much involved in rugby, he is currently an author and journalist to various international publications, as well as a pundit on Sky Sports.
The afternoon will commence at 1pm and will include a sumptuous three-course lunch, charitable raffle and auction.
